It's been a long time...
I got lazy and have not uploaded any images in ages.
Still been here but watching instead of participating. Sometimes it's nice to sit back and enjoy the ride...
Currently doing a big upload of all the stuff I've finished since my last commission.
Also working on a new painting style for the Legion of Everblight army that I am planning on playing for the 2013 tournament season.

Games Workshop has dropped a bomb.
The bomb in question isn't anything awesome like a Deathstrike Missile or Cyclonic Exterminatus warhead, but rather the new 'terms of service' for it's resellers in the UK.
Most notable victims of this particular bomb are Wayland Games and Maelstrom Games both are massive online stores that serve a huge portion of the globe.
They have managed to get so many loyal customers by supplying the goods we want and supplying them at reasonable prices.
As a comparison, I scored a Space Marine Attack Bike via Wayland games for £12.40 which translates to NZ$25.89
The same product for sale here in NZ from Games Workshop's own store costs NZ$48.00
It's not an isolated incident for 1 particular product either.
Such discounts apply across their whole range!
At one point I purchased a massive box set of miniatures that in NZ would have cost me NZ$330, but I got it from the UK for NZ$240 - Including shipping!
Such douchebaggery has been met by the international gaming community with almost universal condemnation, outrage and the sounds of mobs with pitchforks and torches.
Personally I am starting to look into establishing a legal workaround that may make me a little money on the side and will re-establish the much desired trade link that we've all been enjoying for so long.
Ultimately I will stick it to GW one way or other...
My workaround will work and everyone gets what they wanted (Except GW) or I will discontinue to have anything to do with GW at all (as will so many other people) and once again GW loses.
I personally hope they realize just how stupid this idea is and pull their heads out of their arseholes.

Police Schenanegins...

Seems the fuzz here in NZ are now getting away with murder. Literally! www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/art…
To break it down:
Cop leaves a party in a patrol car (WTF the 1st) while leaving people see him using his cell phone while driving. (Illegal in NZ)
Short time later the cop receives a text message, 23 seconds later he hits & kills a 16 year old pedestrian and injures his brother.
The Officer in question faces no charges whatsoever and is still on the force.
Worst of all, this is just the latest in a long line of Police related incidents.

From the above the interview with the officer went like this:
Mr Pidgeon: "Do you accept your shooting was inaccurate?"
Officer A84: "No, I do not, because I know what I saw in my sights."
Which to me says that he admits that he must have done it on purpose. Knowing what's in your sights, and shooting accurately would suggest as much eh?
Dodgy dodgy police in NZ. Above the law. Unaccountable. All the time.
So glad I'm leaving the country.

Astrology: Fun and stupidity.

So... Hands up who saw this little gem?
To summarise, someone ran a news article without doing their homework...
They claimed that due to changes in how Earth revolves around the sun there was now a 13th star sign to be added and dates of existing star signs will shift.
Mass panic ensued throughout various social networking systems and the true scope of our species stupidity showed it's face once more.
No one who reads/watches the news seems to have clicked that 'Journalistic Integrity' doesn't really exist any more and you need to check the sources of EVERY bit of information you're given to screen it's accuracy. You know... to avoid looking like the latest flavour of stupid.
It surprises me that there was no other news worth reporting that day (or many days considering what we're usually spoon fed).
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not attacking people who follow Astrology for whatever reason. I don't personally take it seriously at all but that's because I'm a rationalist. Hooray for Science!
On the topic of Astrology, I was chatting to my mates via email at work about stuff and star signs came up.
I decided to throw a spanner into the works so to speak and dredged up some Chinese astrology stuff. Being that the Chinese have 12 animals but the animals hold sway over a whole year rather than a single month.
Then you add the 5 elements (Earth, Fire, Metal, Water and Air) and you get a 60 year cycle.
Turns out I was born in the year of the Metal Rooster.
Soon as I said that my friend Graeme goes "YEAH! METAL ROOSTER!!"
I'm sure at his desk he was doing some mean air guitar Metallica while gesturing the 'horns'
